CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED ON TUESDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS

Tuesdays Beginning Excel 12-1 p.m.

Wednesdays Beginner Word will be offered from 6-7

Wednesdays Beginner Computer User will be offered 7-8

These classes have an open enrollment and are done on Library PC's - these are not MAC classes.  Although some students can complete work in a shorter time than others, most need 3 one-hour sessions before continuing on to the free on-line learning program, Alison. All students learn on library computers by using printed guides along with assistance from the instructor. A valid e-mail is needed in order to utilize Alison.  (If a student does not have one, the instructor can provide information about obtaining an email from the student's media provider.)  All students receive handouts for practice at home, and all are allowed to work at their own pace.  This program is designed to enhance awareness of navigation skills (on and off the internet), of program assumptions (windows, Excel, Word), and of basic steps for identity and computer security. The goal of the program is to enable a learner to continue learning on-line for FREE through Alison and to approach learning this way as a computer user familiar with basic navigation, program assumptions, and knowledge of computer (and identity) security issues. (We squeeze some fun in here too)!
