WELCOME TO THE DIRECTOR'S PAGE!
Hi
All! I want to start out with many thanks to everyone who has been so
kind in welcoming me to my new position here at the Holderness Library. I
now have four months under my belt and the response has been wonderful! I have
listened to your concerns of wanting evening hours and early morning hours.
As of July 28th we now have new hours: Saturday & Tuesday 8-12,
Monday 9-6, Wednesday 9-8, and Friday 9-5.
Also,
outside sitting areas were established in both the front and back of the
Library with the donation of funds from the Friends of the Holderness Library.
Beautiful Adirondack chairs were purchased along with a
picnic table. All have become favorite spots! If you want to see more, just
make a $100 contribution to the Friends and they will purchase a chair in your
honor and place a plaque on it.
Our featured artists for the summer are Marcia Santori and Kathy Roos. Marcia continues to have a display of acrylic paintings and Kathy has been lending us some of her stained glass for the summer! She also has a display of knit children’s wear. Please stop by; both displays will be leaving us in September to make room for a new artist for the fall.
This summer we have been inundated with summer reading list requests. Unfortunately we did not have a lot of these books. If, after the summer, you do not need any of these books that you might have purchased, please remember us as a possible place to donate them to.
Summer Reading program continues on Wednesdays at 10:30 through the month of August with Mr. Phil performing on August 13.
As we welcome in fall, I will be planning programs for the winter months. If you have any ideas, feel free to stop by. I will make it a point to be available for anyone wishing to express their concerns or just to say hello.
